The Los Angeles Galaxy elevated past Costa Rica's Cartagines thanks to Laurent Courtois only goal for the 1-0 win in CONCACAF Champions League play.
Courtois scored the goal in the sixth minute who shot it from the post. Courtois came over from Chivas USA this past July made a significant impact on the team.
“I’m really happy with the goal. What was most important for me though was playing collectively with the guys that had to step in for those that had to rest for our upcoming games," said Courtois.
The Galaxy continue to fight to keep their playoff position solid as they shuffle through the constantly changing Western Conference.
With a win next week against Cartagines in Costa Rica, the Galaxy can advance to the 2014 CONCACAF quarterfinals.
