The DC trinity of characters is officially headed to the big screen together, as Warner Bros. announced this morning that Gal Gadot, best known for her work in the Fast and Furious franchise, has been cast as Wonder Woman in Zack Snyder's Batman vs. Superman film, currently set to hit theaters July 17, 2015.

Snyder told ComingSoon.net the following on the casting news:

"Wonder Woman is arguably one of the most powerful female characters of all time and a fan favorite in the DC Universe. Not only is Gal an amazing actress, but she also has that magical quality that makes her perfect for the role. We look forward to audiences discovering Gal in the first feature film incarnation of this beloved character."

Gadot will join the returning Henry Cavill, playing Superman, and Ben Affleck, the controversial choice for the new Batman, in the next chapter of Snyder's DC Universe saga.
