Gail Thackray of Los Angeles, Cal., who has visited the Casa de Dom Inácio in Brazil a number of times, still had some doubts about whether people were really being healed.
Although others told her that they were healed after a physical surgery, she wondered if John of God might be using some sort of ‘slight of hand.’ She also heard that they felt no pain during the surgeries, so she decided to put it to the test by asking to have one performed on her to improve her eyesight. In doing so, she had no idea just what she was in for!
“What receives the most press,” she said, “are the one or two physical surgeries John of God may perform on stage (each day). This is where he literally cuts people open and does real surgery with no anesthetic. While shooting the movie documentary John of God, Just a Man, I had the bright idea of volunteering for a physical surgery, stating that I wanted to know what it “Feels like.” Be careful what you ask for!”
In her book entitled Gail Thackray's Spiritual Journeys: Visiting John of God she said she saw “what appeared to be a kitchen knife coming toward my eyes. I reassured myself, ‘Don’t panic. People told you it feels weird.’ But this is even stranger than I had expected. I can see this knife coming into my eye and moving across it, but I can’t feel anything.”
However, her delight at this revelation was short lived. When he went toward one of her eyes a second time, she winced because she felt it!
“I could feel every bit of this ‘surgery,’” she said. “At this point, I’m pleading in my head, ‘Spirit, spirits! Where is my spiritual anesthetic?”
Almost in a panic and nearing her breaking point, she received the message: “Okay, it’s time. Finally, I feel the anesthetic. It was as if someone injected me with a powerful narcotic.”
In reviewing what happened, Gail realized that the spirits were showing her that the physical work and healing was VERY REAL.
“I learned a great lesson that day. John of God says the invisible healings are just as powerful. I will stick to those from now on!
Even people who cannot make the trip to Brazil can be healed through John of God. Either through a photo or simply by being on Gail’s mailing list, which she presents to him at the Casa during her visits there, some amazing things had happened.
“I take all my emails and Facebook friends with me when I visit John of God and the results are miraculous. I tell my clients just to take a moment, think about me being there, and put out what they would like to be healed and what they would like to receive. I try to give them updates on when I actually go in front of John of God. Many people know the exact time because they felt it! And even more spectacular, they receive the healing they requested. People just have to email me at events@GailThackray.com and then they are added to my healing list.”
Even just a photograph can bring a healing, she added.
“People can receive a spiritual surgery or healing just through a photograph without even being present,” she said. You may have heard Dr. Wayne Dyer talking on Oprah about how he was healed from cancer, which was done at a distance using only Wayne’s photo. I often take photos of clients who cannot make it to Brazil and many times the moment I receive the photograph, the person has already received the healing they asked for.”
Gail noted one of her clients who suffered from Stage 4 inoperable liver cancer.
“She gave me her photograph and I placed it in my prayer triangle from the Casa. A week later, the cancer encapsulated and the tumors were completely removed along with all traces of the cancer. This was three weeks before I even took her photo to the Casa!”
Gail said it does not matter how far away you live either. A healing is still possible.
“There is no limitation from distance. When John of God comes to Toronto in March, he will spend time setting up the location for the energy he needs. When he has traveled to Europe, they say the spirits come through him in the same way. Last summer in Switzerland, apparently King Solomon incorporated into John of God and hundreds of people in wheelchairs literally got up and walked!”
