Gaikai registers PlayStation Cloud websites

A report came in on Feb. 19 that Gaikai, a company bought out last year by Sony, has registered several domains connected to the name “PlayStation Cloud”. According to Whois data, Gaikai is now the owner of playstation-cloud.com, playstation-cloud.org, and http://whois.domaintools.com/ps-cloud.net, all of which were registered recently.

These domain names being purchased by Gaikai seem to confirm rumors that emerged last week, which suggested Sony would use Gaikai’s technology to stream PlayStation 3 games. This speculation has been afoot since Sony acquired the company last year.

IGN has reached out to Sony regarding the purchase of the domain names, but they seem to believe they won't receive an answer anytime soon. For now, we can only assume we’ll hear more during the Future of PlayStation event tomorrow. We will be covering the event live on our Twitter , so make sure to follow to receive timely updates from the event in New York.
