Today Oct. 14, 2013 Trick Jarrett spoiled Gahiji, Honored One, one of the newest "Magic: The Gathering" cards from Wizards of the Coast's upcoming multiplayer product "Commander (2013 Edition)," in a post to Reddit.com. Gahiji, Honored One will be appearing in the "Nature of the Beast" Naya deck alongside Marath, Will of the Wild.
Gahiji, Honored One - 2RGW
Legendary Creature - Beast (Mythic Rare)
Whenever a creature attacks one of your opponents or a planeswalker an opponent controls, that creature gets +2/+0 until end of turn.
He can stir the gentlest spirit to wild ferocity.
Gahiji, Honored One is essentially five for a 6/4. This Beast's body may not be the most glamorous we've seen, however it's Gahiji, Honored One's ability that makes it so great. Gahiji, Honored One gives an incentive for your opponents to attack each other instead of you by pumping their attacking creatures power by two. That extra damage may add up fast, especially if it's inflicted by a commander. Why would one of your rivals want to attack you if you're giving them a bonus? Your enemies will be too busy fighting amongst themselves, leaving you with the life points and resources to destroy them all.
One way to take advantage of Gahiji, Honored One is with double strike creatures such as Fabled Hero, Bonescythe Sliver, Savageborn Hydra, and Mirran Crusader. Because Gahiji, Honored One's ability triggers every time your creature attacks, you'll want to attack multiple times in one turn with Aurelia, the Warleader or any other card that gives you an additional combat phase.
How will you use Gahiji, Honored One?
