We’ve always known that Lady Gaga likes to bring the shock factor wherever she goes, but her latest stunts are borderline disturbing. She’s even angering her fellow pop stars. Thursday night, Gaga performed at SXSW, where mechanical bulls and fake vomit made up the performance. A friend came on stage and drank a bottle of colored liquid and then “puked” it all over Gaga.
Gaga is clearly still upset that ‘Roar’ and ‘Applause’ were released on the same day in 2013, and ‘Roar‘ was more widely acclaimed since, according to E! News, at a speech Friday morning Gaga related, "I don't know what the f--k I have to do with Katy Perry. My music is so completely different and I couldn't be more different." Gaga also revealed that she has a “whole second act of ArtPop” coming her fans’ way. That should make her fans go crazy, but they’re going wild about more than just the pop queen’s music.
Gaga has lost some of her relevancy in the recent past. People seem to be tired of her shock tactics. She has definitely lost Demi Lovato’s respect, as the singer tweeted her feelings about the “puking” fiasco:
“Sad... As if we didn't have enough people glamorizing eat disorders already. Bottom line, it's not "cool" or "artsy" at all. Would you let someone bring a needle and shoot up on you? Addiction is addiction. It's not "shade" and it's not "hate". But someone has to come forward and say it and I'll take the heat for it.”
Little monsters immediately began replying to Demi, calling her a “whale” and Gaga “queen.” Lovato is a known advocate for eating disorder prevention and treatment and found that Gaga was glamorizing bulimia with her whole act.
