Vanilla Puddin’ Chardonnay, is the 41-year-old actress’ first wine that will be go on sale on Monday, March 17.
The ‘Being Mary Jane’ star’s 2012 Napa Valley wine is described as a sweet-sounding vino having characteristics of pears, light French oak and white chocolate with dollops of vanilla.
Each 750 ml bottle will retail for $16.99 a bottle and can be purchased through Vanilla Puddin' website.
The website says the wine is fun, elegant, stylish and approachable. It was created in conjunction with Gabrielle Union and JaM Cellars.
Master Sommelier Virginia Philip states,
"This full bodied Chardonnay has aromas of carmelized apple, pineapple and butterscotch. Nuances of vanilla coming from the oak contact are abundant. On the palate, the wine is grippy and weighty. The vanilla, coming from a hefty dose of oak, is front and center and intermingles with the carmelized apple and butterscotch."
Union posted a collage of photos on Instagram and said, “So excited about my new wine @vanillapuddinwine ... It's a fun Chardonnay with hints of vanilla, super yummy and great for all occasions."
Union is not the first Hollywood star to launch a wine. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, Sting, Dave Matthews, Francis Ford Coppola and Drew Barrymore are among the many celebrities who own vineyards or produce wine.
