U.S. Rep. Austin Scott (R-Ga) released a statement commenting on his support for the SIMPLE Fairness Act that passed the House of Representatives on Wednesday.

'Today I voted for HR 4118, the Suspending the Individual Mandate Penalty Law Equals Fairness (SIMPLE Fairness) Act, which would provide relief to hardworking Americans by giving them the same break from Obamacare's tax penalties by delaying the individual mandate as the Administration has given to powerful businesses and corporations," said Scott in a Facebook statement." All Americans should be exempt from the atrocities of Obamacare – no exception."

The H.R. 4118 is the 50th attempt by Republicans to either repeal the entire Affordable Care Act (ACA or Obamacare) or parts of it.

The H.R. 4118 would delay the individual mandate part of ACA for a year. Under the mandate, all Americans who have not purchased health insurance will have to pay a penalty.

The measure passed the House 250-160 with 27 Democrats voting for the bill and one Republican, Georgia's own Paul Broun, voting against it.

Just like with the previous 49 bills, the President said he'd veto the SIMPLE Fairness Act.

Scott represents Georgia's eight congressional district.
