Eduardo Samir Castillanos, 28, of Marietta, Ga. was convicted in a Cobb County courtroom on Dec. 9 on rape and molestation charges involving two girls, both younger than 10-years-old.
According to a spokesperson for the district attorney’s office, Castillanos had raped one girl younger than 10-years-old between 2007 and 2008. In March, Castillanos committed acts of aggravated child molestation against that same child.
Also in March of this year, he molested another girl, who was even younger than the first.
The police in Marietta arrested Castillanos on May 1.
Both of the young victims are being credited with being able to testify against Castillanos during his trial.
The judge overseeing Castillanos’s trial referred to the child predator’s acts as “an abomination.”
At Castillanos’s sentencing yesterday, Cobb Superior Court Judge Stephen Schuster said:
“You cannot find a greater violation of trust,” Schuster said.
“I’ve been on the bench since 2002 and before that spent time in juvenile court, and I don’t think I’ve seen a situation as horrendous as this.”
Since his arrest, Castillanos has been being held without bond at the Cobb County Jail.
In addition to his child rape and molestation charges, Eduardo Samir Castillanos was also being held on an immigration violation.
