Balayage is a French term which means to sweep. For hair, this means the action in which color or lightener is swept directly on to the hair to create depth and dimension. Balayage is an alternative to foil highlighting, and results in a sun kissed, effortless look that draws attention months after application. The essential foundations of Balayage are dexterity, sweeping, application and sectioning, which helps to create a personalized look for each and every client. While the Balayage technique has been around since the 1970’s, the look has been popularized because of celebrities like Gisele, Eva Longoria and Sarah Jessica Parker.
In the wake of its grand re-opening, G2O Spa + Salon continues to build their offering of services. In addition to balayage, G2O now offers salon clients the American Wave and DevaCurl services. Providing The Formula for the Essentials of Life, G2O is Boston's Day Spa Resort for men, women and couples. Originally opening in 1994 as Giuliano Spa for Beauty & Wellness, G2O underwent several expansions at its first location on Newbury Street before moving into its all-new home at 278 Newbury Street in 2010.To create G2O's present home, Founder and CEO Joyce Hampers purchased two historic Newbury Street brownstones in 2008, subsequently joining them to form one unified space.
