Happy Sunday lovelies! Yes the weekend is almost over, but to kick off a brand new week, The Makeup Examiner wanted to bring you a review of Güd hair care and body products.
I recently heard about Güd by Burt’s Bees when Carly Rae Jepsen became their spokesperson. And knowing the quality of Burt’s Bees, I had to try this super reasonably priced, natural product line. The Makeup Examiner received Güd Natural Nourishing Shampoo, Natural Softening Conditioner, Natural Body Wash and Natural Body Lotion in Red Ruby Groovy. Güd carries four other scents, Orange Petalooza, Vanilla Flame, Floral Cherrynova, Pearanormal Activity, with Red Ruby Groovy being their latest offering.
The first amazing wonderfulness about Güd is that all products are free of parabens, phthalates and petrochemicals plus are never tested on animals. Then there’s the eco-friendly packaging made from 25% postconsumer waste and lastly is the price. Natural Nourishing Shampoo - 12 oz, Natural Softening Conditioner - 12 oz, Natural Body Wash - 10 oz, and Natural Body Lotion – 8 oz are all $6.99! Of course, none of the pluses matter if the product does not do what it’s supposed to do.
Beginning with Natural Nourishing Shampoo in Red Ruby Groovy, which has a high-quality citrus scent, the shampoo has a decent lather, but left my hair feeling sort of stripped. So I grabbed the Natural Softening Conditioner and I’m sad to report that the conditioner was not very conditioning.
Moving on to the Natural Body Wash … here was a little redemption. Güd’s body wash has a fantastic lather, rinses well and left my skin feeling cleansed and soft. It also left a clean citrus scent and no residue. I grabbed the Natural Body Lotion, conveniently packaged in a flip-top tube and packed full of organic ingredients, which was fast absorbing and left my skin feeling soft and nourished.
Güd seems to be a fun, new brand of natural hair care and body products (Güd also carries Body Mist), and I cannot say enough good about their well-priced body wash and body lotion, but I would not use their shampoo or conditioner again. Güd products are available at most retail outlets. As always, the Makeup Examiner hopes that readers have found this review to be helpful and for those that use Güd products, leave a comment below!
