The Fish & Wildlife Service (FWS) is asking for public comments on a proposed revision of a Duck Stamp information collection requirement.
FWS wants to change the Electronic Duck Stamp forms that state fish and wildlife agencies complete. States must complete the application once and file weekly reports to FWS. It estimates it will take states about 40 hours to complete the application and an hour for each fulfillment report.
But only 10 states will be affected, since the electronic duck stamps are still only available in a few states pending congressional approval of expanding the program. FWS figures the trial program is so successful that it should be expanded nationwide.
FWS is looking for comments on whether its time estimates are accurate and whether the information collected is useful, and any ways to minimize the burden on states.
You can send comments by April 15 to FWS. For details, see http://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/FR-2013-02-13/html/2013-03286.htm.
