Future USS Milwaukee Launches

On Wednesday December 18, The U.S. Navy and the Lockheed Martin-led industry team launched the littoral combat ship (LCS 5) Milwaukee, at the Marinette Marine shipyard in downtown Milwaukee.

Sponsor Mrs. Sylvia M. Panetta was in attendance to send the ship off with a traditional smashing of a champagne bottle. Also in attendance at the event was Governor Scott Walker and Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Research, Development and Acquisition, Sean Stackley.

Information on the Future USS Milwaukee: LCS 5, the future USS Milwaukee, is the third ship of the Freedom-variant Littoral Combat Ships and the fifth in the class.
