While several additional add-ons are planned for Borderlands 2, Gearbox Software President Randy Pitchford wants fans to know what amount of content they can expect to receive with upcoming DLC. Speaking to Digital Trends on Saturday, Pitchford confirmed that players shouldn’t be anticipating a second season worth of content for the popular loot-based shooter.
Gearbox Software will be going beyond the game’s first season of content, as defined by the title’s Season Pass, but definitely doesn’t plan to provide content equal to what gamers saw up to this point. The Borderlnds 2 Season Pass included four campaign-driven DLC packs as well as the first Ultimate Upgrade Pack which added a new difficulty setting alongside an increased level cap. Content released outside of the Season Pass also includes two additional character classes and a second level cap increasing upgrade pack.
Borderlands 2 is out now on the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and PC/Mac. All content from the game’s Season Pass offer has now been released, but there are additional planned add-ons coming in the future such as the upcoming Headhunter pack series which will introduce new difficult new bosses for players to face.
