Take a dip at Furnace Creek Inn and Ranch Resort located in Death Valley, Ca.

There is a great place for a swim on a warm or even winter day in Death Valley, Ca.  it is the pool at the Death Valley Resort.  This resort is operated by Xanterra Parks and Resorts.

Any weary traveler or guest at the inn will not be able to resist the warm clear water, pumped from the underground thermal waters that are prevelant in many desert locations., keeps the pool at a comfortable temperature of 84 degrees, (30 C).  Poolside the chairs will give you a place to rest, store your gear and sun tan if you can take the heat  Many like to swim laps, or just float around on a noodle and relax.   The view of the distant mountains is always beautiful even on a cloudy day.  This is a true oasis in the middle of the hottest spot in the United States. 

The Furnace Creek Resort provides a half-day shower pass, for a fee, and  is available at the check in desk at the main entrance office.   These passes are for campers to enjoy the shower and pool area. Tennis courts are available, four at the Inn and two at the Ranch location. supplies be checked out at the desk.  For more information write: AMFAC Parks and Resorts, P.O. Other AMFAC facilities are located at Stovepipe Wells and Scotty's Castle.  Gift shops and snacks are available at the Xanterra locations.  Gas services are available at Stovepipe Wells, and Furnace Creek, but none at Scotty's Castle.
