Last night, Furla Boutique located in the Village of Merrick Park, hosted an event to showcase their Spring/Summer 2014 collection as well as, the new store concept. Inside the walls were covered in a pale dusty blue trimmed in gold metal accents, tucked away shelving and product driven flat screen TVs. All of which, made the bags appear to be very high end like a Gucci or Prada design. Surprisingly, this was not the case; most styles started around $400. Former Real Housewife of Miami, Karent Sierra hosted the affair from which bubbly and delish bites from La Bottega caterers were passed.
The crowd drew local fashion insiders like, Miami Fashion Network’s CEO, Jessica Anderson, Violet Camacho and April Irene Donelson both from Haute Living Magazine the media sponsor for the night. Furla’s marketing and communications manager, Susan Rutenberg, informed us that the updated stores would have the same consistent design at all their global locations. The company has in the works, to open a location at Aventura mall. Not only was the layout fresh and sophisticated, so were the handbags. A standout group was the ‘candy’ collection made of rubber. These were unlike bulky jelly bags from years past but modernized in a ‘wear to work’ way trimmed in vegetable tan leathers and python with luxury hardware accents. The Italian brand spares no quality with the finest skins and attention to design detail, offering an assortment of handbags, shoes, novelty items, timepieces and costume jewelry.
