The 250+ cats at the Furkids Shelter in Doraville are anxiously waiting for you to come visit and adopt them this weekend. They have been told that this weekend will be their best chance for a happily ever after.

On March 22 and 23 Furkids is holding its annual Open House from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. All cats at the Shelter will be available to approved adopters at no cost. These cats will be fully-vetted with all shots, combo tested, spayed or neutered and microchipped. Click here for more information on the Open House event.

The following information on this special adoption promotion is from the Furkids website:

Furkids Doraville cat shelter is FILLED with literally hundreds of wonderful adult cats waiting to be adopted. Some have waited YEARS. Often these are cats that for some reason doesn’t do well in our satellite adoption centers or have been rotated so many times we don’t feel it is fair to continue rotating them into Petsmart and Petco stores. Many of these cats would make FANTASTIC companions in a home and are ready and waiting for that special someone to come scoop them up.

So if you have been considering getting another cat, now is the time to give a loving home to one in TRUE need. Plus, if you adopt a kitty from our shelter, we will have space to rescue another from a certain death.

If you are interested in adopting a Furkids’ kitty this weekend, you should take a look at the cats available on the website and submit an application on line. Furkids does not do same day adoptions so you will need to get approved prior to the Open House.

The cat pictured above is Brownie and she will be waiting for you in Room 1-2-3 at the Shelter this weekend. Brownie is an eight-year old female brown tabby kitty. Here is her description from the Furkids’ website:

Brownie is a golden brown tabby with a dense plush coat reminiscent of snickerdoodles or blondies. She’s just yummy! A friendly kitty with large inquisitive sea foam green eyes and a very expressive face, she greets shelter guests and politely asks for a pat on the head. Brownie likes people, but would do best as the only kitty in your home. Like all of our cats, she’s spayed, housetrained and up to date on her vaccines. Want a Brownie? Here she is! Please consider giving Brownie a forever home.
