Funspot and the ACAM to bring classic games to PAX East

In less than 2 short months, the largest gaming convention on the east coast will return to Boston, PAX East. On the weekend of Friday, March 22 to Sunday, March 24, 2013, PAX East will take over the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center.

For the 3rd year in a row the American Classic Arcade Museum, housed within Funspot, of cult King of Kong fame, will bring down a bunch of classic arcade games to drop some old school gaming on the show's attendees. From classics like Ms. Pac-Man, Dig Dug and Space Ace to arcade oddities like Us Vs. Them, the ACAM will definitely bring the goods.

Interested in an early spring getaway? Want to play video game classics from your youth? Or perhaps, get a taste of what the gaming scene was like before you were born? Do you like games in general? Then PAX East is the place to be! As of this writing, there are still badges left for Friday and Sunday with Friday running low. So act fast if you're itching to go!

The American Classic Arcade Museum, host of the famous annual International Classic Video Game Tournament, is located on the 3rd floor of Funspot, in Laconia, NH. The ACAM is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of classic arcade games from the late 80's, back to the monochrome games of the 70's, and even electromechanical games that predates video games altogether. Visit the museum's website for a list of games that are on display as part of a living, breathing, interactive exhibit.

PAX East is part of the semi-annual Penny Arcade Expo gaming conventions, PAX Prime for the west coast, and Pax East for the east coast and now PAX Australia. PAX is named after the hit webcomic, Penny Arcade, whos creators, Jerry Holkins and Mike Krahulik, decided to coordinate an alternate gaming event "For the rest of us" to counter E3's turn to "Press only". The result, PAX is a celebration of all things gaming from PC, console and arcade video games to tabletop role-playing games that has grown so exponentially large since it's creation in 2004.
