Conan O'Brien: "The Tonight Show" host, Best Buy Employee
What, pray tell, is Conan O'Brien doing picking up shifts at Best Buy? Andy Kaufman famously went to work in a deli when he feared that his success on TV's "Taxi" would be fleeting, so maybe Conan's just reacting to the struggling ratings on "The Tonight Show". That, or he's just filming a funny bit and we should all cut the dude a break (we vote for the latter). Read on for the video, my gentle Examiner readers...
In the following video, "The Tonight Show" host Conan O'Brien goes to work at a Best Buy. This is easily one of the funnier on-location sketches we've seen out of Conan for awhile (stick with it 'till the end), and as such we're here to share it with you, our precious snowflakes. Here, check it out:
Though we were just in a Best Buy today, we saw no ridiculously tall, redheaded Irishmen with enormous skulls parading around the aisles. Should you run into Conan at Best Buy while doing your holiday shopping this year, though, give the dude a pat on the back: even if you're not thrilled with the direction Conan's taken his show since moving up an hour, at the very least he got rid of Jay Leno for a few months (which, as we all know, is a very good thing). Merry Christmas, Conan: here's hoping that next year's ratings are better than the ones "The Tonight Show" has been putting up lately.
