The geeks at the San Diego Comic-Con were ready for the Westboro Baptist Church
We've run a few stories about the FAIL-tastic Westboro Baptist Church here at Comedy Examiner HQ before, but the one we've got for you today might just be the best one yet. As you are surely aware, San Diego is currently overrun with geeks, nerds, and film fanatics for the 2010 San Diego Comic-Con. They've come from all over the globe to celebrate the geeky things they love, and-- wouldn't ya know it-- the Westboro Baptist Church showed up to throw a wrench in their gears. Little did the Westboro Baptist Church know, however, that the Comic-Con's geeks had been preparing for their arrival for some time. You can see the results below, my gentle Examiner readers...
Any time the Westboro Baptist Church gets owned, it's a good day at Comedy Examiner HQ. A few months ago, we featured a story wherein some pranksters interrupted a WBC protest at Twitter's headquarters with their own ridiculous signs and chants, and that was definitely good times. But today's story-- featured in the video below-- is even better than that one. The Westboro Baptist Church descended upon the 2010 San Diego Comic-Con yesterday, but what they didn't know was that the geeks were ready for them. Check the video below, which comes to us via ComicsAlliance.com:
This is, without a doubt, my very thing to have ever happened to the Westboro Baptist Church. If you've been living under a rock for the past several years, you may be confused about what's going on here. The Westboro Baptist Church is the organization that likes to show up in completely inappropriate places-- say, the funeral for a soldier killed in Iraq-- and protest like there's no tomorrow. Generally, they also accuse whatever they're protesting of being gay, associated with Satan, or some other such nonsense. They're really the lowest form of humanity currently walking the Earth besides Jim Belushi. It's great to see the Comic-Con nerds giving them what-for, isn't it?

"FAMILY GUY" CREATOR SETH MCFARLANE SIGNS ON TO GIVE DAVID HASSELHOFF A VERY PUBLIC VERBAL BEATDOWN-- in which we learn that Seth McFarlane will be heading up this year's Comedy Central Roast of David Hasselhoff. Gee, I wonder what the comics involved are going to focus on? I bet it doesn't involve the drunken consumption of cheeseburgers.
OFF-TOPIC TIME: NEWLY RELEASED VIDEO GAME "LIMBO" IS THE CREEPIEST THING YOU COULD INVITE INTO YOUR LIVING ROOM-- in which the Comedy Examiner goes off-topic to talk about the newly released video game "Limbo", which is indeed incredibly creepy. Come witness the Comedy Examiner admitting that a video game scared him, just like a little girl!
TRAILER FOR THE "SCOTT PILGRIM VS. THE WORLD" VIDEO GAME IS JUST AS AWESOME AS THE FILM TRAILER (WITH VIDEO)-- in which we check out the trailer for the video game adaptation of Edgar Wright's Scott Pilgrim VS. The World, which had the coolest trailer we've seen all year. This one's incredibly awesome, as well.
UPDATED WITH VIDEO: LINDSAY LOHAN GETS CONFETTI THROWN ON HER WHILE ON HER WAY TO JAIL (WITH VIDEO)-- in which we look at video footage of Lindsay Lohan getting a big-ass handful of confetti thrown on her as she enters the court to be shipped off to jail. It's pretty much the most satisfying thing that you're going to see all week.
