The portion of the American population claiming themselves to be Atheist only grows with every year (oh, and by the way, check out Bill Maher's Religilous for more on this very topic), which means that we're getting to a point where Atheists may start demanding forms of entertainment tailored to their needs. For example, Christians have a million gospel songs, so why don't Atheists have even one? Steve Martin recognized the problem, and he's got the solution below, my gentle Examiner readers...
Steve Martin pulled through Austin recently-- that's the home city of the Comedy Examiner's Office, don'tcha know-- to perform during Austin City Limits, the annual music festival that shuts down downtown Austin every year for about three days. While here, he performed the song below, which he says is tailor-made for Atheists who feel like they've been left out of the wildly-popular gospel music craze.
Check out Steve Martin's performance of "Atheists Don't Have No Songs" below, and feel free to sound off with your reaction to the video in the comments section below (don't forget to leave your comment in the form of a personal attack on the author, otherwise it won't count!).
And stay tuned for more funny videos, news, reviews, interviews, and more from Comedy Examiner HQ in the near future, my precious snowflakes. We've got all manner of nonsense to keep you informed and entertained during the week, so hit the "Subscribe" button up top to get all future Comedy Examiner articles delivered straight to your inbox, free of charge, the moment they're published. Without further ado, here's Steve Martin's Atheist gospel song...
