Funny Video: Audi's hilarious Super Bowl commercial was the best of the night

Well, the Super Bowl has come and gone, and today's all about determining which company had the best commercial (nevermind who won or lost the Super Bowl: we wanna talk about commercials, like real Americans).  After carefully considering every ad that aired last night, we've finally selected the best Super Bowl 2011 commercial.  Read on to find out what it is (as if the headline didn't give it away), my gentle Examiner readers...

Last night, we watched a bajillion commercials while the Super Bowl unspooled before us, but only one could be crowned "Best of".  We were big fans of the Snickers/Roseanne Barr-getting-hit-in-the-face ad that arrived during the first half of the game, but after careful consideration (read: rewatching every frigging commercial that aired during the Super Bowl last night), we've finally picked the commercial that we'd consider the funniest and best of the night:

Audi's "Release The Hounds" ad.

You can see it by clicking the box over there on the left, and you can sound off below if you've got anything you'd like to add to all this.  There's not much more we at Comedy Examiner HQ can say other than:  This one was well-written, looks gorgeous, has a great sense of humor, and didn't feature a single little kid doing something cute.  Yeah, yeah, we ran that VW/Darth Vader ad last night and fawned all over it, but now that we're actually thinking things through, we're gonna have to give it up to Audi.

By the way, Audi, if you'd like to send me a free car, we'll continue to name your commercials the "Best of" every week for the next five years.  You can't beat publicity like that, Audi.  Come on, just one car?  What, are you gonna miss it?  I'll take good care of it, I promise.  Just drop it off in my driveway, leave the keys in my mailbox.

AUDI commercial was the best BY FAR. I can't believe that none of the media whore networks are even mentioning it. Doritos... GoDaddy... the old hag Joan Rivers (please just die) ... GIVE ME A BREAK.

No way!!! All over the country and even in Congress people are talking about the Chrysler commercial with Eminem. Mike, you and the author are clueless if you think the "release the hounds" commercial is being talked about nationally.

This was the winner by a mile. It made me laugh right up until the coda with Kenny G. Seeing it again on here, I caught even more great stuff . . . the pastry room where they dive through the transom, "Oh, my spleen!" and the stuffed dodo. This is right up there with the Budweiser Cat Wranglers.

Anyone catch this one with Troy Aikman? http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=55C42F8A8664EC56

It wasn't really the best year for commercials. Was that one with Troy Aikman only shown in Texas?

  • Amy 1 year ago

I think it was only shown in Texas.
