Halloween may be known for ghosts, ghouls and zombies, but it can also be hilarious, as Ellen DeGeneres proved true on Oct. 23. That’s when she aired a hilarious video clip of her staff members, Amy Rhodes and Andy Lassner, braving their way through “The Walking Dead” haunted house at Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights. Normally, this wouldn’t be too funny - except that Amy is deathly afraid of all things creepy – and with Andy joining in, the funny level notched up for a double dose of sidesplitting laughs. “The Walking Dead” haunted house clip on “Ellen” definitely earns this week’s honors as the Funny TV Clip of the Week.
Ellen DeGeneres introduced the clip on Wednesday by stating, “Amy went to Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights, and oh my God, this is one of my favorite things I’ve ever seen in my life.” The haunted house brilliantly and creepily recreated the Georgia prison from AMC’s hit show, “The Walking Dead.” “Today” reported on Oct. 23, “The darkened prison halls and cells were full of bloody, disintegrating zombies who leap out and grabbed for them at every turn.” Amy, who has been sent to haunted houses for the last several years, was actually the calm one this time around. Andy, on the other hand, used Amy as a body shield and screamed, “I’m protecting you!” He also shouted at the zombies numerous times, “Stop that!” while cowering behind Amy. The “Huffington Post" also wrote about the clip and posted on Wednesday, “Andy has the best reaction to being scared ever.”
Once again, Ellen DeGeneres was more than pleased with the clip and promised to send Andy to a haunted house every Halloween. Let’s see what she has up her sleeve in 2014 for these easily scared, but hysterical staffers.
