Funny Stuff: Geeky Valentine's Day Cards featuring 'LOST', 'Star Wars', more geek chic (with pics)

If you're not a film or sci-fi geek, these probably won't be funny to you at all.

With Valentine's Day coming up, you're probably wondering what you oughtta get that special someone in your life.  Well, if you're a raging sci-fi nerd or "LOST" geek, then the Comedy Examiner has some pictures he'd like to share with you.  The Valentine's below feature characters from several pop-culture/geek favorites, and I can't think of any better way to tell your partner that you love them this Sunday.  See them yourself below, my gentle Examiner readers...

Ah, Valentine's Day: the most romantic day of the year other than Flag Day.  And maybe President's Day, but President's Day is more "sexy" than it is "romantic".  You know what I mean.  At any rate, the holiday's almost upon us, and for the geeks out there that read the Comedy Examiner's Office, we have some funny Valentine's Day cards to share with you.  Let's get this party started with some cards from Garrison Dean over at the awesome sci-fi/geekery site i09:

OK, obviously this first one's from "District 9", which has the most romantic scene involving an exploding cow you're ever likely to see.  OK, second-most romantic scene of a cow being asploded.  Whatever: I actually swooned in the theater when I saw the one in "District 9".  Let's see what else Dean's got for us...

OK, "2001: A Space Odyssey" fans are sure to recognize HAL9000 when they see him.  Murderous, space-based robots?  That's a recipe for romance!  You know what else is?  Mutant cannibals that will hunt you and your family in the desert!

Next up, we've got a shirt (you can give a shirt as a Valentine, right?  Why the hell not?) from ForeverGeek.com, which contains a reference to one of the oldest internet memes to ever rear its ugly head: the "All Your Base" meme (actually, was that a meme?  I think it was a meme).  Here, check it out:

Wasn't that delightful?! Feel free to head over to i09.com to check out the rest of Dean's work, most of it's fantastic (and just as funny as the ones you've just seen).  For the next few Valentine's Day cards, we've got some "LOST"-themed action for you.  Check out these cards from Lee Bretschneider (you can see more of his work at that link):

Dude captured Ben perfectly, didn't he?  He's got the creepy stare, hollow eyes, and moist brow down cold.  He's even got a striped shirt on!  It's like Ben is trapped in your computer screen right now, folks, isn't it?  Let's see what else Brent's got for us...

Creepy Bonus Anecdote: the Comedy Examiner has a little statue of Locke on one of his movie shelves with a button on it that, when depressed, causes the mini-Locke to say the catchphrase referenced in the Valentine's Card above.  It's so awesome, that you're never allowed to touch it when you come over, so there.  OK, we've got time for one more "LOST" card, let's see what Brent's got going on...

All very good stuff.  There's much more at both of the links that are provided in the article, so if this didn't quench your thirst for hilarious, geeky Valentine's Day cards, feel free to stop over to those other sites and see what else they have on offer.  You won't be disappointed with your choices, I assure you. Here's one more bonus geeky Valentine from Wired.com:

One more, you ask?  One featuring a "Star Wars" character?  I think I can make that happen for you.  This one comes to us from the website known as StarkKeith.net, which we don't know anything about other than that it's the home to this awesome Valentine's Day card:
