This Friday's week's pick for Funny Friday is the 1948 movie "Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein." The comedy duo Bud Abbott and Lou Costello meet just more than Frankenstein in this horror comedy, they get to meet the Wolf Man and Dracula. This horror comedy was directed by Charles Barton, and starred along with Abbott and Costello, Lon Chaney Jr, Bela Lugosi, Glenn Strange, and Lenore Aubert.

"Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein" is one of the best horror comedies out there, it's packed with everyone's favorite horror monsters and everyone's favorite comedy duo. Abbott and Costello did meet the other monsters (the mummy, and so on) but this one has to be their best film that dealt with the Universal monsters. There is something that just makes it great, from the comedic chemistry of Lou Costello and Bud Abbott, to just how the movie plays out. A fun fact about the movie, in 2001 it was selected for preservation in the National Film Registry. That's just how much it put an impact on American cinema.

It's always fun because you get to see Lon Chaney Jr reprise his Wolf Man role, as for Lugosi too. While this movie is a comedy it doesn't forget to add some fun frights either. If you have never seen it or would like to watch it again, Amazon is renting the movie for $2.99. That's for a 24 hour period, but you can check your local video store too for a comedy Definitely a movie that shows the genius of early horror comedies, and it's fun. So if you've never seen it, rent it tonight!

So "Abbott and Costello Meets Frankenstein" is this Friday's pick for Funny Friday. Classic comedy fans check back next Friday to see which other movie gets pick!
