FUNImation acquires home video rights to "Ben-To," "Scientific Railgun S"

At their industry panel at Anime Boston on Saturday, FUNImation Entertainment announced that they had acquired the home video rights to two popular properties.

"Ben-To" is the story of what happens when getting the best deals in the supermarket becomes a contact sport. high school students throughout Japan wait for the Manger's Specials stickers to go on bento boxes, and once they do it becomes a knock-down, drag out fight for who gets to take it home first. When Sato joins the Half Price Food Lover's Club, he finds he has an aptitude for the food fights.

The show is scheduled to have a summer release, with the first two dubbed episodes available to Elite Subscribers on May 27.

"A Certain Scientific Railgun S" is a continuation of the Railgun series, and has lead character Mikasa trying to protect her clones from an experiment to make an evil esper stronger.

The show is scheduled for a two part home release this summer.
