Fundraising for United Way looks to fall short of goal

United Way of Central Ohio's annual campaign numbers are coming in and it looks like it will be a little short of the goal. Projected numbers from the 2009 campaign are showing a decrease of 16 percent from last year which will bring in a little over $43 million. The 2008 campaign brought in $52 million.

To offset the loss, United Way will cut its operating budget beginning in April, as well as its funding support to member agencies.

The 2009 campaign comes to a close at the end of the month and final numbers will be announced by mid-April. Final cuts will be decided and made known at the end of April.
