If you received a brand-spanking-new iPhone this holiday season, you might wanna pay attention to the customer review written by the gentleman featured in today's Fun With iPhones screen: apparently, he recently downloaded an App from Apple's online store that ruined his life. How's that even possible, and how can you avoid the same fate? Well, we can't help you with the later, but today's Fun With iPhones screen will be all too happy to explain the former. See it on the left, my gentle Examiner readers...
By the way, we wanted to thank frequent Comedy Examiner reader Mike M. for sending in today's winning Fun With iPhones screen. There's a sad tale being told in this one, but damn it if we didn't laugh until the sadness went away. So, thank you, Mr. M., for brightening up our day. As for the guy featured in today's edition of Fun With iPhones, well, you swing by Comedy Examiner HQ whenever you'd like, sir: we'll give you a place to stay (for up to 20 minutes).
Here's how Funny Photos has worked for the past year or so: you send in your Funny Photos, we look 'em over, and the best ones get featured here at Comedy Examiner HQ. Simple, right? It has been. But soon enough, we're going to be doing something different withFunny Photos, and that's what we're really here to talk about.
In the past, those whose Funny Photos have been selected have been rewarded with nothing more than a name-check. But going forward, we're thinking about turning Funny Photos into a bit of a contest: send in the "Funny Photo of The Week" (or maybe even "of The Day"), win a prize. We're not quite sure how we'd implement all that just yet-- really, though, how hard could it be?-- but it is on the table for discussion, and we hope to implement this new reward-system sometime early this year (or, at the very least, long before the Mayan apocalypse hits).
Here's the other change: for the past year or so, we've asked that people send their Funny Photo submissions to our personal email account, but today we set up a brand-new inboxspecifically for your Funny Photo submissions. From here on out, if you come across aFunny Photo that you think needs to be featured here at Comedy Examiner HQ, you can send it in directly to ComedyExaminerFunnyPhotos@Yahoo.com. Several times per week, we'll raid that inbox for your submissions, and all the winning entries will appear here. Once we turnFunny Photos into an ongoing contest, this is also where we'll be pulling your submissions from. So, y'know, don't send any of your Funny Photos anywhere but there.
We're going to leave this message in place for a good, long while-- for as long as it doesn't seem to annoy anyone, anyway-- just to make sure that everone gets to see it. And so, if you click on a Funny Photo article between now and then, you're going to see our intro at the top (which introduces the day's Funny Photo(s), as it usually does) followed by this message. That's by design: don't freak out.
One more thing: we welcome just about any kind of Funny Photo submissions here at Comedy Examiner HQ, but anything with nudity or drug use will be automatically taken out of the running (feel free to send those in for our personal amusement, though!). Sorry to do it, folks, but it's supposed to be a family-friendly site. Alternately, anything featuring bad language can make it through, but it will have to be "bleeped" (by one of the vast staff of Photoshop-proficient technicians we have slaving away in the Comedy Examiner HQ basement). Oh, and also? Nothing that promotes hate speech, kittens, or Jim Belushi.
Everyone on the same page? Good. Check out today's Funny Photo selections on the left--as always, they're in the 'Slideshow' box-- and come back tomorrow to see the next batch. And don't forget: send in your own Funny Photo submissions (which can fall into our Fun With iPhones, Fun With Facebook, or Fun With Yahoo! Answers categories) toComedyExaminerFunnyPhotos@Yahoo.com if you want to get involved. We'll drop a name-check on you for now, but after the first of the year, you just might win a prize if your photo gets selected! Ooh, exciting!
