There are many seniors who swear they won’t get a cell phone. Others have given in to the craze not because they want to chat up a storm with their friends but mostly as a source of emergency. It is handy for an active elderly person to have a cell phone just in case an accident happens they can call for help and not wait for someone to spot them in trouble.
But one never knows why a senior uses a cell phone. It could be for reasons mentioned already and then again a means of keeping in contact with their children and grandchildren who all seem to have one attached to them at all times day or night.
Many people use text messages instead of leaving a message and waiting for an answering machine to pick up their calls. It is an instant way to communicate with another.
Grandchildren have a whole bunch of text codes they use when texting to their friends that most parents and grandparents don’t understand at all. Now it is time for some fun text codes that are going around that relate mostly to seniors. Now the elderly can send or receive a text message to and from a friend and a grandchild is looking over their shoulder they will be lost trying to translate the meaning they shouldn’t have been reading in the first place.
