Early childhood educators have implemented many character building curriculum activities in the past few years to help children learn to develop good character traits. Friendship, honesty, and trustworthiness are just a few of the character traits that can be introduced to children at an early age with developmentally appropriate activities. Team building skills are also part of developing good character traits.
The Imagine School in Sarasota kicked off a great event this past Friday for several weeks of teaching the importance of friendship and giving back to the school with its Booster Club Boosterthon Fundraiser that will continue until February 13. The Boosterthon Fundraiser Fun Run will promote the importance of friendship along with raising money to upgrade classroom computers. The focus of this year's character program is friendship with Camp High Five.
Parents and friends in the community who know students who attend The Imagine School are encouraged to log on each night at www.FunRun.com and enter your pledge information for your student. You must have your student's access code as part of your pledge information. Each student is encouraged to have ten sponsors to connect with pledges. Character and music videos are part of the program that participants may watch each night when they log on. Team building, fitness, and friendship are featured in the videos.
The Fun Run will take place on February 13, with participating students running 30-35 laps. This is a unique opportunity for parents and friends of students who attend The Imagine school in Sarasota to encourage this special event for building good character in our students while teaching them to support their school. The Imagine School is located at 6220 McIntosh Road in Sarasota.
