fun. had a great start to the week. On Sunday night the band performed in the middle of an on-stage rainstorm at the 55th Annual Grammy Awards and, having been nominated for six awards, they walked away with two major Grammys. To finish the week off fun. will come to Atlanta for a concert on Friday night.
fun. was nominated for Best New Artist, Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for "We Are Young," and Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album for "Some Nights." They ended the night winning Best New Artist and Song of the Year.
Interviewed after winning Song of the Year for "We Are Young", Nate Ruess said “I don’t know what I was thinking when I was writing the chorus for this song. If this in HD, you can see our faces. We are not very young.”
fun.'s week will end this Friday night at the Tabernacle in Atlanta playing to a sell-out crowd. The concert will feature music from both fun.'s two studio albums including the Grammy nominated "Some Nights", fun.'s second studio album. fun. will be supported by Andrew McMahon.
"Some Nights" has been a tremendous commercial success. The three singles off the CD, the title track, "Carry On," and "We Are Young," have helped to bring fun. into the mainstream, leading the band to an appearance on "SNL" and a string of sell out concerts.
If you haven't been lucky enough to get a ticket to Friday's concert there are rumors that fun. will be back in the summer as part of a nationwide Most Nights tour.
