This is the year ACL better watch its back. Fun Fun Fun Fest announced their lineup Monday evening in a promo video with Dave England, ‘Danger’ Ehren Mcgehey, and Preston Lacy, better known as those guys from Jackass.
The lineup for 2014 was played over a series of Jackass bits with an Austin twist, including death grips from Juan of Juan in a Million, segway tours at the Capitol, and chicken shit bingo.
This year includes a handful of big names. The black stage has rockers like Judas Priest, Death from Above 1979, and the Black Lips. Blue stage will host Nas, Girl Talk, Wiz Khalifa, 2 Chainz, Atmosphere, Flying Lotus, and Ginuwine. Finally for the orange stage, get excited for Death Cab for Cutie, Alt-J, and Neutral Milk Hotel. And not only are there dozens of more bands and artists that have been released to look forward to, we still have to wait for the announcement for the yellow and green stages in the upcoming weeks. Forty-two days for the yellow stage, to be exact.
Since 2006, FFF Fest has been the one of the most beloved independent music festivals in that nation. It's a weekend for alternative fun in music, comedy, sports, food and art. Unlike her sister fest ACL, FFF isn’t saturated or overwhelmed with branding or products. It’s been known for its history of dedication to the Keep Austin Weird culture and being more underground than commercialized. From a taco cannon projecting delicious breakfast tacos into the crowd to air sex competitions between sets onstage, there’s nothing mainstream about this festival.
Three day passes are available online for $195. FFF Fest will be held November 7-9 at Auditorium Shores.
