Fun football workout

A fun way to get into a football game and at the same time getting off the couch is to listen to the game on the radio, outside and then workout based on the action.

When your team has the ball you run as many yards as they move but instead of yards convert to 'size of my backyard', no fancy formulas, if they get a first down you run the length of your backyard.  If they score a touchdown run it 6 times.  If a field goal is kicked run it 3 times.  Follow this for extra points.  

If the other team gets a first down do ten push ups.  If they score a touchdown do six sets of ten.  If they score a field goal do three sets of ten. 

If your quarterback is sacked do a set of as many push ups as you can in 1 minute. 

A fun variation of this is to partner up with someone and when you run have that person throw you a pass.

This is a great outdoor workout.  You can also have your kids join in to help them stay fit.
