Are you looking for something new and fun to do with your family for Christmas this year?
Here are some fun things to try:
Give:
Give to those who serve you… mail carrier, teachers, ministers, hairdressers or nail technicians to name a few. How about a big plate of homemade cookies?
Bake cookies together and bring them to your neighbors!
Spend Time:
Each night read a Christmas book to your children before bedtime. Talk about sweet dreams!
Create:
Make a Christmas newsletter about your family to send in with your Christmas cards! Let each person decide what he or she would like to share.
Decorate your own wrapping paper using paper bags or any kind of plain paper. Decorate it with Christmas themed stamps and stickers.
Celebrate:
With an Advent wreath…buy one or make your own. Make a wreath made of greenery, real or fake and purchase (or make) three purple candles, one pink and one white candle.
Advent wreath:
1st purple candle: Hope candle
2nd purple candle: Peace candle
Pink candle: Joy candle
3rd purple candle: Love candle
White Candle: Jesus
Light them in this order, starting 4 Sundays before Christmas.
1st Sunday, light 1st purple candle. Second Sunday, light 1st purple and 2nd purple candle. Third Sunday, light Pink and the 1st two purple candles. Fourth Sunday light fourth purple, pink and first two purple candles.
On Christmas day, light the white candle and all of the other candles.
Each time you light the candles talk about the meaning of the one you are lighting.
This really makes for a special family time together.
Decorate:
Hang mistletoe all through your house. It will create a lot of love throughout the season! Kiss, kiss!
