The complete track list for the soundtrack for 2K Sports’ upcoming basketball sim, “NBA 2K15,” curated by award-winning musician Pharrell Williams, was revealed by video game publisher 2K Sports today in a press release obtained by Examiner.
According to the press release, the game’s soundtrack will consist of tracks from A Tribe Called Quest, Red Hot Chili Peppers, No Doubt and more, including Williams himself, in what 2K called the most “unique soundtrack compilation in “NBA 2K” franchise history.
A fashion, music and pop culture guru, Williams has produced tracks on some of the best-selling albums of this generation including Kendrick Lamar’s “Good Kid, M.A.A.D City” and Frank Ocean’s “Channel Orange. He’s also proven himself as a superstar solo performer with hit singles "Happy," “Blurred Lines” with Robin Thicke and “Get Lucky” with Daft Punk.
“It was a cool experience. I tried to curate songs that were diverse but yet still proved to be motivational to gamers,” Williams said in a press release. “It was important to me that the music complemented the on-court action of NBA basketball in NBA 2K15. I hope everyone enjoys it.”
