Everyone’s favorite futuristic bounty hunter Jack Deth is back with the previously unreleased original sequel to the 1985 sci-fi classic Trancers starring Tim Thomerson and Helen Hunt. Sure there was the 1991 sequel Trancers II, but did you know that wasn’t the first sequel?
In 1988 Full Moon founder and director Charles Band directed a film called Pulse Pounders that consisted of sequels to The Dungeonmaster, H.P. Lovecraft’s The Evil Clergymen, and the original sequel Trancers: City of Lost Angels. Sadly, this never found release due to the collapse of Empire Pictures and has been on the shelf ever since, until now. After discovering a work print, Charles Band and his team spent a year digitally restoring it including an original 80s style score and stars original cast Tim Thomerson and Helen Hunt.
In Trancers: City of Lost Souls Jack Deth, has put away three centuries worth of time traveling criminals, but his most dangerous collar, the ultraviolent assassin Edlin Shock, has escaped from her maximum security holding cell and won't rest until she's exacted revenge. Meanwhile, Deth is trying to make a life for himself as a private eye in 1988 Los Angeles with his hot-blooded girlfriend Lena. Relationship troubles are just the beginning of Deth's problems when he learns that Edlin Shock has followed him back in time. Aided by his former police chief McNulty, whose consciousness is inhabiting the body of a 13-year-old girl, Jack Deth will have to use his wits, as well as his fists, to save the past, present, and future!
