Will Reese Witherspoon do Cheryl Strayed justice in her performance of “Wild”? Opening night attendees of the 13th annual San Diego Film Festival will have a chance to find out earlier than most. The highly-anticipated movie based on the 2012 memoir opens the five-day festival taking place September 24th-September 28th.
Also set to screen: “The Equalizer” starring Denzel Washington (Friday, September 26th) and “You’re Not You” starring Josh Duhamel, who will be in attendance (Saturday, September 27th). In addition, 89 narrative, documentary, and short competition films will be competing for top honors.
Passes to the festival are on sale now with options ranging from individual screening passes to the complete VIP Pass, giving fans first priority selections plus admission to the red-carpet Celebrity Tribute night, private VIP lounges, first entry access to screenings, and other special events.
After a somewhat dismal summer of movies, ushering in festival season in San Diego is just what we need as we head into fall.
Screenings will be held at the Reading Theater in Gaslamp Quarter and ArcLight Cinemas in La Jolla.
