As Dancing with the Stars judge Len Goodman says “ Good dancing has gotten you to the finals....
great dancing takes home the mirrored ball.” Tonight is the highly anticipated night when the winner will be announced
The finale kicked off with Diva Whitney Houston’s amazing performance. Houston fresh from her American Music Awards performance, appeared in a sparking mini dress showing off her gorgeous gams and belting out her new pop song "Milllion Dollar Baby".
Microsoft’s Steve Wozniak began a spoof on the supposed club of “Losers” and was joined by comedian Jeff Ross, who introduced the worst of season as Ashley Hamilton and partner Edita Sliwinski. Followed by Former contestants Kathy Ireland and Tony Dovolani, Macy Gray, and Jonathon Roberts, Debi Mazar and Maksim Chmerkovskiy came out and performed a elegant group dance.
Former House Majority leader Tom Delay had to leave the competition early because of an injury. Host Tom Bergeron extended an invitation to some back for the finale to perform his Texas two step, and he accepted. He took the stage decked out in full cowboy gear ,with partner Cheryl Burke, and gave the audience his best booty shake.
UFC Champ Chuck Liddell and partner Anna Trebuneskaya, Iron Chef’s Mark Dacasacos and Lacey Schwimmer gave an electrifying performance. It ended with a carefully choreographed fight scene. One rather amusing comedy bit was Adam Corolla who was on hand to give his best shot at coaching Donny Osmond to a victory, "Coach" Corolla demanded Osmond hand over his "guy liner".
Olympic swimmer Natalie Coughlin and her professional dance partner Alec Mazo gave a flawless performance. inspiring host Tom Bergeron to say “Is it too late to vote them back in? Actress Melissa Joan Hart and partner Mark Balla sizzled their salsa to Desi Arnez’s song “Cuban Pete”.
The finalist’s presented one more dance for the audience, and the judges . First up was Kelly Osbourne, who has been considered by many a “dark horse”, but risen to the top. Osbourne looked like a princess, wearing a midnight blue gown accented with a pink scarf. She and partner Louis Van Amstel glided across the stage in a romantic waltz.
Singer Mya has consistently received high scores for her dancing technique, and stage presence. She wore a black and silver flapper dress, while her partner Dmitry Chaplin was dressed like a hunky/nerd, with glasses and high water pants. The couple performed a fast paced, yet flawless jive routine. Said judge Len Goodman, “You are without a doubt fantastic!"

Consummate showman Donny Osmond has been a fan favorite from the beginning. Tonight he was dashing and debonaire in his black suit , and his partner Kym Johnson looked stunning in a black beaded dress. The couple heated up the dance floor while dancing the Argentine Tango.

NFL Sports legends Jerry Rice and Michael Irvin competed in a Paso Doble dance off with partners Anna Trebunskaya and Anna Demidova . The song was the theme song for the NFL ( I think). Both were out to win the new coveted “mirror ball ring”. The judges awarded the first ring to Michael Irvin, and said the “battle of the bodies” went to Jerry Rice, making them both winners.
Aaron Carter and partner Karina Smirnoff danced to the “Muppets theme song” as the Muppets classic grumpy old men watched from the audience. Backstage Miss Piggy interviewed Cloris Leachman, Jerry Springer, Steve Wozniak and Joanna Krupa who were all about to compete with their former partners in a group mambo dance. It came down to Steve Wozniak and partner Karina Smirnoff against Joanna and Derek Hough. The judges revealed their decision as Joanna Krupa and Derek Hough for the winners of the group mambo competition.
Whitney Houston came back in a tight yellow mini dress, to sing her blockbuster “I want to dance with somebody” as the pro dancers performed.
Finally the winners were announced...
Third place went to a disappointed Kelly Osbourne and Louis Van Amstel while second place went to Mya and Dmitry Chaplin. That made Donny Osmond, and partner Kym Johnson the winners of this seasons dancing with the Stars.
