This is the final weekend for the State Fair of Texas. Get the details on visiting the fair in Dallas and several other fun family events going on across Fort Worth. Enjoy a weekend of perfect fall weather at the following outdoor events.

State Fair of Texas - through 10/23
The State Fair offers budget-friendly fun for adults and kids of all ages. Between the music, live shows, food, games, rides, and exhibits, a family could easily spend the whole weekend here. Check out Ft. Worth Frugal Family Examiner's Guide to the State Fair of Texas 2011.

Boo at the Zoo - 10/21-23 & 10/28-30
The Fort Worth Zoo is hosting its annual Halloween event during the day this weekend and next. Tickets are $3 per person, plus regular zoo admission of $12 for adults and $9 for children. Get details on this activity and others on the list of Halloween trick-or-treating activities in Fort Worth.

Friends of the Fort Worth Library sale - 10/21-23
Support the Fort Worth Public Library and pick up a few good reads at this bi-annual sale. Admission is $1 per person and most books are priced at $1 or less. Sunday is $10-a-box day. For $10, pick a box and fit as many books in it as you can. The bookstore is located in the Wedgwood Shopping Center at 820 and Trail Lake Drive. Hours are 9-4:30 on Friday and Saturday, and noon to 4:30 on Sunday.

Red Steagall Cowboy Gathering & Western Swing Festival - 10/21-23
Celebrate all things western in the city "where the west begins". Stockyards Station hosts the 21st annual Red Steagall Cowboy Gathering with music, poetry, ranch events, and an authentic chuck wagong cook-off. Tickets are $30 per person (not including the evening rodeo) and children age 12 and under are free.

Fort Worth Alliance Air Show - 10/22-23
Watch the US Air Force Thunderbirds, along with dozens of other sky-high performances at Alliance Airport. On-the-ground activities include airplane and helicopter displays, a kids' zone with Radio Disney, helicopter rides, autographs opportunities, simulators, exhibits, and concessions. Gates open from 9-5 both days with the air show from approximately 10-4. Admission is free and parking is $20 per vehicle. Visit the Alliance Air Show site for details and a list of restrictions. This event has been canceled.

Fall Festival in the Japanese Gardens - 10/22
Enjoy the beautiful fall foliage in the Fort Worth Botanic Gardens along with traditional Japanese dance, music, martial arts demonstrations, papermaking, and tea ceremonies. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for children 4-12, and free for children 3 and under. Hours are 10-5 on Saturday and 11-5 on Sunday.
