Ft. Worth weekend on a budget: February 11-13

Are you looking for something to do with your family this weekend? There are lots of great events going on here in Fort Worth that fit any budget.

Lowes Build & Grow workshop - 02/12
Children ages 5-12 can build a Valentine's music box at Lowes from 10-11 am. Reservations are not required, but recommended. Supplies are available to the first 50 children. Cost is free.
 
The Knack Family Event - 02/12
Children ages 3 and up can make their own Valentine's frame with purchase of a wooden frame at Michael's between 10 am and noon.
 
Borders Silverlicious party - 02/12
Fans of the book Pinkalicious will want to celebrate her newest book, Silverlicious. Children ages 4-8 can visit Borders for a parade, games, crafts, and giveaways starting at 2 pm. Cost is free.

Barnes & Noble Valentine's story time - 02/11 & 02/12
Children can visit the Hulen Barnes & Noble for a special holiday story time featuring Love, Ruby Valentine by Laurie Friedman. There will also be sugar cookies and a craft. The event begins at 11 am both days. Cost is free.
 
Adult After Hours: The Science of Love  - 02/12
Adults get the Ft. Worth Museum of Science & History all to themselves from 6:30-10 pm. Enjoy music, drinks, food, special exhibitions, hands-on activities. Some activities include making bath salts, creative Valentines, henna tattoos, group twister, karaoke, and much more. Guests must be 18 years old; admission is $10 per person and may be paid at the door.
 
Amon Carter Family Fun Day: A Texas Winter - 02/13
The Amon Carter Museum is hosting a free family event from 1-4 pm. Guests can explore Texas's crazy winter weather through art, hands-on activities, and stories from 33 News meteorologist Rebecca Miller. Cost is free.
 
Solar Scoping - 02/13
Join experts at the Ft. Worth Nature Center to safely look at the closest star - our sun - during the daytime. Other activities are included. Cost is free with paid park admission (adults $5; children $2).
 
The Knack Free Family Event - 02/13
The whole family is invited to make free custom greeting cards for Valentine's Day at Michael's between 1 and 3 pm, while supplies last.
