Correction (Thx Jim-The report I read must have been in error.)
Actually, for weapons he had a .357 magnum revolver and an FN 5.7 mm (which is only slightly larger than our .223 - 5.56 NATO) The FN has a 20 and 30 rd magazine. He probably had 30s. The round is essentially a shortened .223, i.e. a rifle round. It is designed to crumple on impact and tumble viciously, which probably accounts for the high death rate.
Excellent job cataloging the facts of this case and the threat to America presented by Islamic fundamentalism.
