Although the person of interest associated with the BOLO (be on the lookout for) alert is not believed to be at Fort Gordon, at this time, the Public Affairs Office says he was likely on the military post near Augusta, Ga., within the last couple of weeks.
An update on the BOLO was released late yesterday afternoon, Sept. 19, on one Peter Luu (no rank listed) who is thought to be a Marine and poses a possible security threat.
Earlier today, (Sept 19) Fort Gordon issued a 'be-on-the-lookout' notice regarding an individual named Peter Luu, approximately 20-26 years old.
Fort Gordon law enforcement officials are seeking Mr. Luu for questioning in connection with information provided to installation authorities.
Law enforcement officials have informed Richmond County and Columbia County Sheriff's Offices, and the U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command has coordinated with the FBI.
In light of the horrific shootings at the Navy Yard in Washington, D.C., the military has decided to go “pro active” on this alert.
Although no description of Mr. Luu has been released in conjunction with the alert, he is said to be 20-26 years old and his surname might suggest that he is of Asian descent, although that was not confirmed.
Mr. Luu is said to have made serious and threatening posts on his Facebook page.
Law enforcement officials urged anyone who comes in contact with Mr. Luu to NOT engage with him. He is considered dangerous.
Anyone with knowledge of Mr. Luu’s whereabouts is asked to call 911 on Fort Gordon or (706) 791-4380 if call from a location off post.
NOTE: Readers...please share this alert. Widest dissemination could be helpful in apprehending this person.
