Ft. Bragg investigates another on-post Soldier death

For the third time in less than three weeks, Fort Bragg, North Carolina, is struggling with the loss of another Soldier who was found dead on post. Officials are investigating the death of Pvt. 1st Class Darrell Robinson, 23, after he was found dead Aug. 31.

The news was released by the Office of Public Affairs earlier today. The cause of death is unknown at this time. Investigators are trying to determine if the death was homicide, suicide, or natural causes.

Pvt. 1st Class Robinson was with the 550th Military Working Dog, 42nd Military Police Detachment, 503rd Military Police Battalion, 16th Military Police Brigade. A native of San Angelo, Texas, Robinson enlisted in the Army in May of 2013. There was no deployment history for this Soldier.

His battalion commander, Lt. Colonel Carolina K.M. Horton released this statement:

"We are deeply saddened by this sudden and unexpected loss of our Soldier. "We extend our deepest condolences to the friends and family of Pvt. 1st Class Robinson.”

The family of Pvt. 1st Class Robinson has not released information regarding funeral arrangements.

Sgt. Adam Gilliam, 28, of Morristown, Tennessee, was found dead of a gunshot wound at Fort Bragg on Aug. 22. He was a cavalry scout in B Troop, 1st Squadron, 73rd Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team.

Pvt. 1st Class Lance D. Cuffee, 23, of Norfolk, Virginia, was found dead at Fort Bragg Aug. 27. He was a geospatial intelligence imagery analyst in Intelligence and Sustainment Company, Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion.
