Florida State Seminoles head coach Jimbo Fisher has suspended two of the team's starters, it was announced today. FSU's Christian Jones, a linebacker, and Eddie Goldman, a defensive end, will not be allowed to play in Saturday's game against Bethune-Cookman due to an undisclosed violation of team rules.
“Those guys will not be playing this week for us,” Fisher said. “It is disappointing. I’ll correct it, but we all have to abide by certain guidelines. They’ll be back and ready to go on Monday.”
The suspension comes at a convenient time for the Seminoles, they are facing a lopsided battle against the out-classed Bethune-Cookman Wildcats.
Terrance Smith will replace Jones in the starting lineup, while Demonte McAllister will step in for Goldman. This will be Smith’s first career start.
