FRUSTRATION!!
Today, acutally this morning, was a very frustrating day. I had two important things that I needed to do today. I felt like I was losing my mind as I tried to gather the items needed to complete the tasks.
#1. My driver's liscense will expire on January 20. I decided that I needed to get the deed done. I was afraid we might get more snow and I might not make it into town to get it done before Friday. Today was a pretty day and I wanted to complete the task.
First, I had a terrible time finding the paper that said I needed to get my lisense renewed. I prayed and found it. I read the list of things it said "most dl places require" a. your dl, b. a current passport or birth certificate, a marriage certificate, your social security card, and vehicle registration.
I knew where the passport, marriage cert, dl, and veh reg were. I had taken my ss card out of my wallet because of everyone who said it was not a good idea to carry it with you. The only trouble was that my hiding place was too good. I prayed again and remembered a long ago hiding place. Yay...it was there.
I decided to do the other thing I needed to get done before Friday, in case the internet went down for some reason. It was #2. Pay my Texas Sales Tax online.
I couldn't find the paper to do that either. I prayed and found it. I couldn't find last year's paper to go by. That time when I prayed I did tell God that I hate to pray about stupid stuff.
I found it. Then, I tried to sign in to the website. I forgot my login name. I had them sent it to me. Then, I forgot my password and the answer to the question...I tried 2 or 3 times and got locked out.
I had to call the comptrollers office. The lady asked me the question and I was close, but had a number wrong. She sent me a new password. I got onto the website...Yay...Yay.
Then, it came time to pay. They didn't have my debit card on there and I had to put it on a credit card. Bummer. I got it paid and got dressed to go to town.
I stopped by the mailbox and saw that I had a package at the post office. When I got there, I had forgotten my billfold, drivers license and checkbook. I got my package from the post office and headed back home. I almost stayed there, but had been through so much that I went back to town (ten miles) and went to get my dl renewed.
Guess what? Alll they looked at was my old dl! grrrrr. I got that task done and went to my sister's house. I had been through so much, I made her look at all my id stuff. (That was mature.)
She very patiently looked at all my 'required' identification and told me, "Good job." She actually gave me an 'atta girl!"
The package I got from the post office had the post cards in it about my new book, Six Miles From Nashville. I spent the rest of the afternoon prepping them to send out to my readers. If you don't get one and would like one, let me know and I will get it to you.
I am glad it is bedtime right now. It has been a very long day. I did get all the stuff I wanted to get done completed. I am looking forward to a stressless day tomorrow.
Six Miles From Nashville
will be ready soon. I am editing right now and excited for you to read it. It is not a Western. It is set in 1974. I wanted to stick my toe in the water of writing a modern day Christian fiction. Several people are reading it in order to write an endorsement for me. I was pretty nervous about attempting this work, but they have told me that they like it.
I am working on the next book in the Rescued...A Series of Hope, Walk Slowly Through the Dark. It IS a Western and continues the stories of the rescued girls. I am going to continue to write the Westerns, but I want to challenge myself with current stories as well.
A book set in 2012 is spinning in my mind as I write this. My kids reminded me that 1974 was 40 years ago. lol... The devotional book is coming along as well as the funny book about my life. I am hoping to have several new titles out in 2013. I believe that is the Lord's will for me.
