A sweet friend named Lena gave this recipe. She made it for our annual cookie swap last year. It is a family tradition in her husband’s family. His grandma makes it every year for his birthday!
You can make this pizza to suit your taste and Holiday! Use Holiday to colors. For example, for Christmas, use red strawberries and green kiwi or on July 4th, use red strawberries and blueberries. Your possibilities are endless!
Melva’s Dessert Pizza
- 1 roll of refrigerated sugar cookie dough
- 1 tub cool whip, thawed
- Fresh fruit of your choice, sliced*
Preheat oven to 350*.
Cover pizza-baking pan with no-stick foil.
Roll out cookie dough onto foil to fit.
Brown in oven for about 8 minutes.
Cool.
Spread cookie with cool whip.
Refrigerate for 20 minutes.
Add fruit.
* You can also use canned fruit. Try 2 cans of fruit cocktail. You can even try 2 cans of fruit pie filling as your topping. How about canned pineapples and blueberries?
Tip – Be sure to drain your canned fruits well. Too much liquid will make a soggy crust.
