A cute and fun craft to do to celebrate this St. Patrick's Day is a Fruit Loop Rainbow. Rainbows, pots of gold, and leprechauns are often connected to St. Paddy's day. Rainbows are both beautiful and easy for your little ones to make. These brilliantly colored pieces of art will look fantastic in your homes and on a bulletin board. With a few simple materials you can make fruit loop rainbows with your children. After the children create their rainbows you can sing a St. Patrick's Day song about rainbows called He Lived Under a Rainbow

Fruit Loops Rainbow Craft

What you'll need:

  • Fruit Loop Cereal
  • Rainbow Template
  • White glue
  • Construction paper (lightweight cardboard would work well here)

How to make your Tissue Paper Rainbow:

  1. Print our rainbow template and trace it onto construction paper or cardboard.
  2. Pour some cereal onto a paper plate – we found it was easier for our daughter to see and sort the colors if we used a plate instead of a bowl.
  3. Put a line of glue around the outside edge of the rainbow. Have your child place red fruit loops on the line.
  4. When they are done with the red line, put down another line of glue just to the inside of the red row and have them put down orange fruit loops.
  5. Repeat this process for the remaining colors (in order: yellow, green, blue, purple.
