Fruit desserts part two, easy spiced peaches

Peaches are a juicy, delicious fruit. They do well in desserts, partly because they are strong enough to be baked or sauteed.

Peaches are in season from May to Late September. They are at their best in Lexington from July to September.

In these winter and spring months, when we are deprived of fresh peaches, frozen are a great substitute. They are often good quality and do well in most recipes. For some desserts, you can take them straight from the bag to the recipe without defrosting.

The following recipe is a simple recipe that is delicious. It is fruit desserts part two, spiced peaches. Part one was crumbly blueberry tart.  Both desserts are fresh and easy to make. Enjoy!

Easy spiced peaches

1 tablespoon butter

16 onces, frozen peaches

2 tablespoons sugar

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

1/4 teaspoon allspice

Vanilla yogurt or whipped topping

1.  In a medium sized pot melt the butter. Add the peaches and sprinkle with the sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice. Cook 5-10 minutes, or until the peaches are defrosted.

2. Place the peaches in a bowl, and top with yogurt or whipped cream. Sprinkle with cinnamon if desired. Serves four. Enjoy!
