Rum is what gives this dish a lot of flavor. Dark rum is the best to use. The Liquor Barn in Hamburg has a variety of different rums to chose from that would be great in this recipe. Myers dark rum is a great one to use.
Make sure to serve this dish immediately after plating, so the ice cream doesn't melt too much. Enjoy!
1 1/2 tablespoons butter
2 bananas, sliced into rings
1 teaspoon cinnamon
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1/4 cup dark rum
In a large pan melt the butter. Add the banana slices, and spread out evenly. Let cook on medium heat for two minutes and then flip them. Sprinkle with the cinnamon and brown sugar. Move the heat up to medium-high. Stir and add the rum. Cook three to five minutes. Serve over vanilla ice cream. Serves two.
