You're probably thinking that fruit and spinach combined in a smoothie couldn't possibly be good, but with one sip of this delicious smoothie, you'll be proven wrong!  By using frozen fruit and raw baby spinach, you'll have a cool treat in no time that provides you with a serving of vegetables, a serving of fruit and a serving of dairy in one delicious package!  Additionally, they are much cheaper than purchasing a smoothie at one of the local specialty shops or even premade at the grocery store.  Try these Ogretines and you won't be sorry!

Ogretines (Fruit and Spinach Smoothies)

1 cup frozen strawberries

1/2 cup frozen peaches

1/2 cup plain yogurt

1/2 cup milk

1 tablespoon honey

1 cup raw baby spinach

In a blender, add all ingredients and blend until smooth.  Taste before serving for sweetener, and add any additional to suit your tastes.  These smoothies can be made with any combination of fruits or with just one fruit, according to your tastes.  You can also substitute sugar for the honey or fresh fruit for the frozen.  If using fresh fruit, add some crushed ice to the blender to make the final product nice and cold.  Be sure to check the flavorings if using crushed ice, as that has a tendency to dilute the flavor of the smoothie.

On your way to this weekend's big events, Duds for Doodlebugs (for all you frugal moms and moms-to-be) and Hubfest, whip up this smoothie for an on-the-go breakfast or snack.

Enjoy!

What an interesting group of ingredients. You are right ... fruit and spinach ... who would have thought that these two could partner up to make a delicious and nutritious smoothie.
